Trogir, Croatia

Just under 17 miles from the city of Split, the town of Trogir has an urban history dating back to the 3rd century B.C. Trogir is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, and its historical core is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its many rulers over the centuries left their mark on its architecture, which includes many 13th century churches in the Romanesque style and palaces and fortifications from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
